Golden Corral, in a recent change of strategy, has embarked on an aggressive development effort into previously untapped markets with the use of in-line, end caps or previously occupied space.
Markets where new, two-acre, ground-up, free-standing opportunities are at a premium are now being developed by Golden Corral, thanks to the expanded strategy and the recent closure of 150 restaurants previously occupied by Ovation Brands.

The owner of the former Bronx Grill has joined the Golden Corral franchise family and will be bringing Golden Corral to the Bronx, New York market. Golden Corral receives calls regularly asking for a Golden Corral in the New York City area, so this is bound to be exciting news all around.
While the regular guests of the Bronx Grill can still look forward to seeing the same faces serving them, they will benefit from the vast offerings of the Golden Corral menu and promotions.

Nascar Driver JJ Yeley delivered a Top 10 finish in the Golden Corral No. 36 Chevrolet at the 2016 Daytona 500. That meant it was a "JJ's Monday" Monday, February 25 , at Golden Corral restaurants across the country.
Each time the No. 36 Golden Corral Chevrolet finishes in the top 10 this season, Golden Corral will offer a one day "Kids Eat Free" promotion called "JJ's Mondays" on the Monday immediately following the top-10 race finish.

The company was the founding sponsor of Camp Corral in 2011, and continues to provide generous support to the organization, now a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, nonprofit corporation. In 2014, Golden Corral raised more than $1.6 million that was used to send over 3,000 military children to a Camp Corral host camp.

(Jan. 1, 2015) – Golden Corral, the nation’s leading grill buffet chain, announces the appointment of Lance Trenary as President and Chief Executive Officer effective January 1. Trenary, who started in his family’s restaurant business at an early age washing dishes, moved up the ranks at Golden Corral the last 29 years, serving most recently as the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Trenary will take over for retiring CEO Ted Fowler, who has held the top position with the company since 1989.

David Gronewoller has a sign on his Golden Corral restaurants that includes the saying “The Most Crippling Failure Disease ... Excuses.” David doesn’t allow himself or his employees to make excuses, and that’s why he’s grown his restaurant empire to 12 Golden Corral locations in North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida, with two more under contract.
David could have made excuses when he left college after two years and started his career as a dishwasher. “I was determined to be the best damn dishwasher in the world,” he says.
